DIY Lavender & Chamomile Bath Salts

YES YES YES! An easy and cheap DIY bath salts recipe woo hoo! I love taking a bath. I run my bath, pour myself an Olipop, get my iPad ready for a good Netflix show, and slap on a face mask. It is the ultimate me time. There are many health benefits to taking baths, which you can read about in this blog post.

The relaxation and stress relief is the best thing about the bath for me. I like to take my baths at night because when I get out of the tub, it’s like I’ve experienced a long spa day (without spending a fortune). I’m so relaxed, I want to go right to sleep.

One of the major factors in the relaxation of a good bath is the magnesium. Magnesium is the best and natural form of a sleep aid. The magnesium in this DIY bath salts recipe comes in the form of Epsom salt. Another great thing about Epsom salt is that it’s affordable and helps soothe sore muscles. So I use it for both a sleep aid and to help with my sore muscles from exercising.

I don’t go a single bath without using bath salts.

I just can’t seem to take one without it. Not only does the Epsom salt help in multiple ways, the essential oils dried flowers make my bathroom smell like a spring paradise. But bath salts can also add up in price when I’m taking a bath at least 3 times a week. So I decided to start making my own to save money.

I have previously posted a Vanilla Rose bath salts recipe. But I also wanted to incorporate lavender so I made this recipe with lavender and chamomile for the ultimate relaxation. This recipe lasts me several months and takes no time to make. I purchased the dried flowers from spice shop in Asheville, NC but you can find them on amazon for a descent price as well. I hope this recipe helps you unwind and relax among all the chaos in the world right now.
